Encrypted search is now an option

Many folks don’t think twice about the security of the data that they send when they conduct a web search, or the security of the results they get back. But knowledge of what you’re looking for can actually give away a lot about you, and could even compromise your company’s trade secrets in some situations.

Google has recognized the desire for more secure search, and last week started offering the option to encrypt all that data so that if someone does intercept it, it will be unreadable. You’ll need to visit https://www.google.com to use the feature, and it won’t be the default – at least not for now.
