VMware quietly announced there is a bug within the ESXi OS that will affect virtual machines that have CBT (Changed Block Tracking turned on and have at least 128GB on the disk. Though this bug won’t affect all users, it could definitely hurt some of the bigger backing up their data using the CBT feature and then not aware that it is in fact receiving incorrect information on what to backup. Essentially that data is just gone.
