A New York state company found this out the hard way when a former IT employee, who quit his job in anger at failing to get promoted, hacked the company network and caused about $90,000 worth of damage. He was arrested by the FBI after he stole passwords and remotely logged onto the network to engage in “cyber vandalism” activities. He now faces up to 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
