Gartner analyst says public cloud may be more secure than private

Security is one of the biggest concerns of companies considering a move to the cloud, and according to many surveys, one of the top obstacles to its adoption. There is an assumption that the private cloud or on-premise data center is inherently more secure than putting data and applications in the public cloud, but Gartner analyst Andrew Walls challenges that assumption, saying you’re far safer in the public cloud than you are on your own equipment.

James Urquhart, however, points out that there is one factor over which neither the customer nor the cloud provider has control, and which adds to the risk of the public cloud, and that’s law. Read more here:
