Part of my job is creating slide decks and giving presentations. I’ve been working on improving my skills here for years. I started by giving talks at the local VMUG. I was more nervous than I thought I’d be, honestly. Everyone tells you the best way to give a presentation is to know your stuff and I 100% agree with that. But there are other things you can do to make it better as wel.
We’ve all heard the saying “death by slides.” While this can account for the sheer number of slides, it can also account for how boring each slide may be. I’m honestly not a very artistic person so slide creation isn’t my favorite. I started reading Presentation Zen by Garr Reynolds which has been a great help! I highly recommned it to anyone looking to improve their presentation skills.
