The Internet Explorer 6 exploit that was used to hack into Gmail accounts in China has been released on the Internet by hackers. Although IE 6 is outdated, it’s the version that came with Windows XP and many homes and businesses are still using XP and so may be vulnerable.
The good news is that Microsoft is not waiting until the next Patch Tuesday to fix the problem. They are working on a security update to address it and have announced that it will be released as an emergency “out of band” update.
