Google’s Chromium security team wants to make HTTPS the new normal, with HTTP sites relegated to an Internet hall of shame where they’re prominently labeled as not secure. They want browser interfaces to change so that users get explicit warnings when they visit a site that doesn’t use encryption to protect the connection.
