HyperTerminal and Windows Vista

Some apps never die. HyperTerminal, a terminal emulator you can use for Telnet, for connecting to routers, and other purposes, can be found on Windows XP under Start, All Programs, Accessories, Communications. Unfortunately it's gone from Windows Vista, so what can you do if you need it?

You could purchase HyperTerminal Private Edition version 6.4 from Hilgraeve Software as this version can run on Windows Vista.

Or you could try one of the following alternative products which may meet your needs:
• ZOC
• Indigo
• PuTTY (free)

If you have feedback concerning this tip, I'd love to hear from you.
