Intelligent Application Gateway (IAG) 2007 Goes into Data Center with Service Pack 2 (SP2) Part 1

In this, part 1 of a two part article series, John Neystadt discusses how you can use IAG 2007 SP2 as part of your organization’s reperimeterization plan. image

John provides a number of scenarios and examples of how you can use IAG 2007 SP2 to significantly  increase your security by moving SharePoint, Exchange, CRM and other key network data services into the datacenter, away from the clients.

Such a plan benefits from the requirement that all clients, regardless of location, are required to pass through a security gateway before accessing the data service of choice. This is superior to the traditional approach of only requiring external users to pass through security gateways because it’s a well recognized fact that risks from internal clients (so-called “insider attacks”) are more common, and more dangerous than those emanating from the outside.
