Question #867

Is The standard edition of isa server integrated with NT 4.0, where the outbound access can be set by user or group?

Answer

You cannot install ISA Server on a Windows NT machine. It must be installed on a Win2k machine. Standard edition can be installed on any Win2k Server family product, but Enterprise Edition requires either Advanced Server or Datacenter Server.
All ISA Server editions can be installed on machines that are members of a Windows NT 4.0 domain, and the ISA Server can use the SAM database on which to based security policies. However, if you install an Enterprise version ISA Server, you will *NOT* be able to create arrays, since AD is required to create arrays of ISA Servers.
