How to limit internet access by user account with the new Isa server

Question #935

With the new Isa server can you limit internet access by user account?

Answer

Yes. If you install the Firewall client, you can control access via users/group membership. However, if you do not install the Firewall client application, then you must use either the web proxy service or secure NAT. You can control access to web protocols (HTTP, FTP, HTTPS and Gopher) using the web proxy service, but if you use secure NAT for other protocols, you cannot control access based on users/groups.
