If you care about your career, you’ll stop thinking your job ends with being knowledgeable and skilled in IT security matters and realize that it also requires that you be able to share that knowledge and expertise in the form of actionable information with the “higher ups” in your company who depend on you to keep them informed. In fact, failure to do so is seen as a cause for dismissal by a majority of company executives and board of directors members – that’s how important they think it is.
