Massive patch release coming tomorrow

It’s that time again, and this month’s Patch Tuesday promises to keep IT personnel busy, testing and installing an unusually large number of security fixes from Microsoft. A total of seventeen security bulletins will address a whopping 64 vulnerabilities, with nine of the bulletins rated “critical.” All versions of Windows – both client and server – are impacted, as well as Office, IE and other Microsoft products. This sets a record for number of vulnerabilities addressed (and ties the record for number of bulletins released). The good news is that some well-known vulnerabilities, such as the MHTML vulnerability and the SMB browser vulnerability are expected to be fixed in this round of patches.
