Microsoft’s Face API, which uses a combination of machine learning, real-time streaming analytics, and real-time business intelligence, has been used for some fun applications such as How Old Do I Look?, which guesses your age based on your photo, and Twins or Not?, which analyzes how similar the features of two people are.
Well, you know how whatever legit movie comes out there’s a ‘porn’ version with a title inspired by the original movie? Porn is saving the day once again as one porn site is using Microsoft’s technology to fulfill its users’ fantasies.
Here’s how this works. Let’s say that some people have this ultimate crush that they may never have a shot with. That’s where Megacams.me is using Microsoft’s Face AI to help them find sex webcam performers that may look like the object of the visitor’s desire. Users will need to upload an image of the object of their desire and Megacam will use this image to match it with its live sex models in its database.
It’s an interesting application of technology, to say the least. Microsoft’s Face API, which is available to developers, offers 30,000 free look-ups per month, but once that is consumed, it charges $1.50 per 1,000 transactions.
“This way it feels like you are having live sex with the person in your picture. At Megacams we do everything so you can enjoy live sex with the models of your dreams,” Megacams claims in its site.
For this to be effective, users must submit photos with only one person in the image, making sure it is in jpeg format, and the shot should be front-facing. Images are saved into Megacams’ secure database, not on disk, and will be deleted within 24 hours, the service claims. Results of the image search will only be visible to the user as it can only be accessed using a unique url emailed to the user. This saves users from potential embarrassing situations such as your crush finding out you were looking for her porn actress look alike.
So how accurate is this service? One female tried the service to test its accuracy and was a bit underwhelmed with the results. Most of the results only delivered a 41 percent likeness, but looking at the images, though blurred, you’d agree that the results aren’t close to the original. A review will not be forthcoming (we are sorry to disappoint here at TechGenix), but honestly, it sounds like it will deliver plenty of entertainment for some people.
