When an enterprise is thinking about migrating to the cloud, it’s similar to moving to a new house—IT must plan and organize as well as consider the costs and benefits. To advance the vision of the “mobile first, cloud first” initiative, Microsoft IT migrated its own data and applications. The IT group faced some unexpected challenges, developed several best practices, and learned some lessons to share with companies that also want to make the move to the cloud.
