Essentially, it’s a chat-based workspace that lets users collaborate on documents and communicate in real time. It is, in effect, Microsoft’s answer to Slack.

So with this addition, users of the educational version of Office 365 will soon have access to the classroom experiences version of this collaboration feature made specifically for classrooms and student groups. The feature also allows teachers to manage their workflow easily within the platform.

The new classroom experiences in Teams will help teachers manage their daily workflow more easily than ever before … Even more exciting, the new classroom experiences will also help prepare students for the future — Kirk Koenigsbauer, vice president, Office 365 client applications
