Despite the somewhat sensationalistic title of the book that inspired this article, which itself is named Security Lessons from “The Gluten Lie”), it’s a thought-provoking look at how the exisitence of a real problem (such as celiac disease or advanced persistent threats) can be overstated and even exploited by those who see an opportunity to profit from the fear that can be created by making people think it’s much more widespread than it actually is.

I like authors who read across a broad spectrum of topics – not just technology – and are able to apply concepts and ideas from one area of life to another, so I enjoyed this commentary from Adam Shostack. Check it out here:
