Out there in the trenches, though, it appears IT managers are still very much concerned about security issues – although that concern may have moved inward, concentrated more now on securing the irreplaceable assets – the data – over securing the edge of the network. A recently survey by IT Manager Daily showed that data protection was the number one cited priority, and the growth of mobile computing and BYOD are certainly contributing to those concerns. And although it might have to play second fiddle this year, network-based security is still close behind.
