Survey says: Security experts are concerned about IPv6 issues

We all know that one of the benefits of IPv6 is better security for network communications, but a shortage of IT professionals with expertise in deploying the new protocols and testing equipment for IPv6 support could raise new security issues. Introducing additional complexities into a system always creates the opportunity for error, and misconfiguration or lack of IPv6 security features in the infrastructure devices could leave the door open to attackers.

A recent survey of IT security pros conducted by Arbor Networks, Inc. showed that IPv6 issues are a big concern, along with DNS SEC, DDoS and botnet attacks, with service and application layer exploits coming in as the number one concern.
