TechEd Notes: Opening Day Keynote Address

Last night’s keynote address was fantastic! Each speaker brought a ton of energy to the stage and a lot of new ideas were shared. Best of all, Chloe O’Brian (Mary Lynn Rajskub) from "24" was there! Chloe is the poster girl for the IT Pro geek girl. Anyone who’s a fan of "24" got a double treat, because not only did we get a dose of Chloe, we also saw four episodes of Microsoft "4" — which is a series of four short videos on real life IT Pro’s and what their life would be like if they lived like the characters on the "24" TV show.

Best of all for the ISA firewall fans, the third episode of "4" highlighted the ISA firewall as the firewall protecting the perimeter!

There were a number of demonstrations during the show. The best one, hands-down, was the one done by Kuleen Bharadwaj. Kuleen demonstrated how ISA 2006 protects the perimeter and your core information assets, including Exchange, SharePoint Portal Server and Live Communications Server.

I could go on and on about the keynote address, but a picture is worth a thousand words and a full length video is worth a trillion! Head on over to https://www1.msteched.com/content/webcasts.aspx and view the opening day keynote for yourself. Make sure you have time to watch the entire video, as the nuggets are hidden throughout the entire broadcast. The entire show lasted about two and a half hours.

HTH,

Tom
