Tom Shinder “The Edge Man” talks about DirectAccess and VPN in his technet blog entry over at:
I found this to be an interesting discussion because when I talk to people who are thinking about DirectAccess, they usually couch it in the context of replacing their current VPN solution. This made sense to me, since DirectAccess is in many ways far superior than any network level VPN solution available on the market today.
However, Tom does mention some considerations that are important to review before you deploy DirectAccess. These focus on how your current VPN infrastructure should be handled after the DirectAccess deployment.
I thought it was an interesting discussion and worth the time to read it.
