Time to Turn in My Blue Badge (AKA leaving Microsoft)

What feels like not that long ago, I wrote this blog post revolving around joining Microsoft as an FTE. Today, I’m blogging the opposite.

After four years as full-time Microsoft employee (FTE) and prior to that, four years as contracted vendor for Microsoft Corp in Redmond, I have decided now is the right time to disengage from the company. Yes, I did think pretty hard about it, as my plan originally was something else inside Microsoft. However, these days that specific plan requires relocation to Redmond, and I have since come up with some other ideas.

I will contract with a Microsoft Cloud Partner, so in addition to those ideas that needs to be realized, I will also do traditional consulting work and other types of relevant engagements.

Microsoft was a great experience with many awesome colleagues and friends around the globe. However, time has come to move back to the other side and have fun in a more independent fashion.

Merry Christmas, and may this new year bring you joy and laughter. To be happy is the greatest wish in life.

See you out there!

Until later,
Henrik Walther
