Top Three Browsers Defeated Again at Pwn2Own

The annual Pwn2Own hacking contest took place in March, with predictable but troublesome results: once again, the three most popular web browsers were quickly brought down by hackers motivated by the $280,000 in prize money. IE 10, Chrome and Firefox all succumbed to exploits – as did plug-in technologies such as Java and Flash. These were the latest, most up-to-date (fully patched) versions.

The moral of the story: Regular patching is important, but never assume that it’s enough. All organizations need a sound, multi-layered defense in depth strategy to protect your systems from clever attackers.
