LDAP authentication is a handy tool that you can use when pre-authenticating connections to Web servers located behind the ISA firewall. But like any handy tool, if you don’t know how it works, it might not turn out as handy as you’d like it to be. There’s some good stuff on the Microsoft Web site on how to use LDAP authentication, and I’ve done a fair number of articles on this site about how to use LDAP auth. But more is always better, and better we get with the recent release of Troubleshooting Forms Base Authentication using Secure LDAP Authentication on ISA Server 2006 by Yuri Diogenes.
