Troubleshooting Mouse Problems

If you find your mouse pointer behaving erratically, for example jumping around on the screen, then it’s possible that the registry settings for your mouse device have become corrupted. A quick way of troubleshooting this issue is to do the following:

1. Open Registry Editor

2. Find the key HKCU\Control Panel\Mouse

3. Delete this key

4. Log off Windows and log on again

When you log back on, Windows will automatically re-create this registry key and hopefully your problem will be resolved. Please remember that before you make any changes to your registry, back it up!
