If you’re an iPad aficionado, you probably wish it could do everything under the sun. Personally, there are two things that I really want on mine:
- Microsoft Office (or even the web app versions working well)
- A way to manage and monitor my vSphere environment
Sure, there are workarounds that enable both of these objectives, but they’re a bit kludgy.
For the second desire, a solution is on the way! VMware recently demonstrated an iPad app that will allow administrators to handle common administrative and monitoring tasks right from the app.
VMware has indicated that this app will be available for download from the App Store by the end of the year. I will certainly be testing it and will report back.
