Veeam is bringing tape support to v7!

Most of us really hate tapes, but realize that they’re a fact of life.  For many, tapes simply aren’t going anywhere.  Why?  They remain a staple for long-term backup archival, especially for organizations that want to vault historical backups and that want to avoid the expense of backing up to the cloud.

The screen shot below is from a video by Veeam’s Doug Hazelman, VP of Product Strategy at Veeam.

In this video, Doug is outlining the virtues of Veeam Backup & Replication v7 and one of the brand new features coming in the product is native tape support!  Since its inception, Veeam has supported disk-based backups and recently added cloud as a target, but with v7, Veeam completes the trifecta by adding tape support, providing IT managers with additional backup and recovery options.
