Veeam recently released a new white paper that I authored for them. The topic revolves around the high-level business benefits that should be expected with modern virtualized environments. I begin the white paper with a look at the history of virtualization and how it has grown from a techie-oriented tool used to build test servers and consolidate old servers to an overhaul of the entire data center architecture.
Today’s business platforms are often running in complex virtual environments that require good monitoring at both the high and low levels. In my paper, I review some of the top metrics that should be watched in order to identify which resources are becoming constrained and explain why monitoring at the resource level helps IT organizations best target scarce dollars.
