HP and Microsoft teamed up to demonstrate the possibilities of performing long distance live migration across data centers in a recent video. The video shows a Hyper-V VM running Microsoft SQL Server being live migrated across data centers with no down time. There is some storage array configuration to do in order to get this to work, but it is a very intriguing video to say the least:
