One of the disadvantages of virtualizing applications is the loss of local shell extension integration. This is most noticeable when trying to right-click an item that has a file type association to a virtualized application. You will notice that menu items you might suspect to show up are not there. Luckily, these menu items can be added back with a little trickery. Heath Doerr posted instructions on how to accomplish with VMware ThinApp recently. Here is the end result of WinRAR running as a ThinApp package:
