VMware recently released the VMware vSphere client for the iPad. The vSphere client for iPad has a basic set of features that will enable you to do most common maintenance tasks for your vSphere environment. According to VMware, the vSphere client for iPad is not meant to be functionally equivalent with the existing Windows client but still offers the features to perform 80% of the most common vSphere admins tasks. These features are:
- Search for vSphere hosts and virtual machines
- Monitor the performance of vSphere hosts and virtual machines
- Manage virtual machines with the ability to start, stop and suspend
- View and restore virtual machine snapshots
- Reboot vSphere hosts or put them into maintenance mode
- Diagnose vSphere hosts and virtual machines using built-in ping and traceroute tools
