Whitepaper: VMware vCloud Director Performance Best Practices

VMware vCloud Director (vCD) allows you to build out your environment to provide Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). , vCloud Director delivers cloud computing for existing datacenters by pooling virtual infrastructure resources and delivering them to users as catalog-based services.  All of this can be wrapped up in a self-service web interface as well.

All of this stuff requires planning for performance and tuning.  VMware has released a whitepaper aimed at helping admins build vCD environments.  The whitepaper focuses on three main areas:

  1. vCloud Director sizing guidelines and software requirements
  2. Performance characterization and best practices for key vCloud Director operations and new features
  3. Best practices in performance and tuning vCloud Director Architecture

So, if you are thinking about building out your VMware infrastructure as a private cloud, or are already in the process of doing so, check out this white paper to get the best performance and tips on best practices.
