Xtreme Podcast: When Internet trolling isn’t about catching phish

Welcome to this week’s installment of the Xtreme Minute. This is our weekly rundown of the TechGenix Xtreme Podcast hosted by Louise Chalupiak and Peter King with links to articles on the week’s hot tech topics.

We start off with an article from Brien Posey that sadly, most of us can relate to. Titled No, you STFU! Shutting down obnoxious Internet trolls, this article is about the online war that began with the introduction of message boards and doesn’t seem to have yet reached its peak. From the voice of victim experience, Brien offers some advice to help lessen the impact of these online bullies.

Next, we go to an article from Mitch Tulloch, titled Business data storage is getting cheaper – or is it? Long gone are the days when 40MB local hard disk storage forced us all to independently manage our data. That task has shifted to the enterprise and with it comes the cost of backup storage, Internet speed, and tools to locate the crazy amount of data we are now saving. It seems rather clear that we must shift our behavior in the short-term.

Our third article, CES 2019 roundup: All the top picks and highlights, is written by Sukesh Mudrakola. From rolled-up TV screens to new home appliances and breast pumps, and even vegetable proteins that taste like real hamburgers, there is no question that the annual Consumer Electronics Show is one of the most innovative and fun events of the year. Sukesh gives us a rundown of some of the top hits from this year.
