Xtreme Podcast: Existing in the gray area of the technical ‘Twilight Zone’

Welcome back to our weekly installment of the Xtreme Minute! A quick synopsis of what to expect in today’s TechGenix Xtreme Podcast with Louise Chalupiak and Peter King, including links to the weeks hot tech topics and all the cool TechGenix content.

Our first foray into the technical gray area is an article from Mitch Tulloch titled, ‘Free’ Windows 10 upgrade: Could this be a honey trap set by Microsoft? Urban myth? Conspiracy theory? Reality? This is a thought-provoking article that brings to light an interesting sentence from the Microsoft 10 end user license agreement that naturally we have all read. “Successful activation does not confirm that the software is genuine or properly licensed.” Enough said…

Is there any shade of gray more pronounced than the gray area of passwords?  Amy Babinchak supplies us with a little bit of help in her article titled, Frustration relief: Troubleshooting Microsoft 365 login problems. Life and technology have supplied us with too many passwords to always get it right. Thanks to Amy, this article provides details on some local solutions that can get you back in and running with relatively little pain.

And we are not done with our gray area observations just yet! Wrapping up the podcast we go to Brien Posey and his article titled, Can Alexa connect the dots and figure out your darkest secrets? Things have truly gone too far when even Brien is writing about conspiracy theory and Peter puts on his tinfoil hat! With so many devices listening to us in our homes, and offices, and even in our cars, this is a look at the potential implications.
