Do a survey among any random group of IT admins and ask them — “what do you think are the most difficult topics in Windows networking to understand and master?”
I think you’ll commonly find the following:
- IPsec
- Certificates and PKI
- NAP
- IPv6
Guess what? DirectAccess uses all of these to a greater or lesser extent – and you need to understand these topics to get it going.
Ben Bernstein and Max Braitmaiere put together a nice blog post to help you understand some of the certificate requirements for making DirectAccess work.
