Analysis of Holiday malware attacks

The Christmas and New Year holiday season, just past, is a time for celebration and happiness – but it’s also a time when criminals take advantage of the high spirits and goodwill to step up their illegal activities. Malware purveyors are no different. An analysis by GFI’s research team recently revealed that this past holiday season saw a series of themed attacks designed to lure in victims with the promise of Christmas freebies and discounts.
