If you’re at (or on the way to) this year’s BlackHat conference in Las Vegas, you know one of the challenges is deciding which sessions to attend. If you’re in corporate security, you might want to check out the presentation scheduled for July 26 called Catching Insider Data Theft with Stochastic Forensics. What is stochastic forensics, you might ask? Well, it’s a process for detecting insider data theft – which often evades more traditional computer forensics methods – by using statistical patterns.
The presenter is Jonathon Grier, an independent security consultant and researcher who has taught classes for the U.S. Department of Defense Cyber Crime Center.
