Richard Hicks raises that question in a recent post over on his blog, and it’s a good one. As Richard says, When Microsoft announced the formal end-of-life for Forefront TMG 2010, they laid out in clear detail the support boundaries for the product going forward.” We understood at the time that the Web Protection Service (WPS) updates for the URL filtering database, antimalware signatures, and the Network Inspection System (NIS) would only continue until December 31, 2015.
However, it appears the last update for NIS signatures issued was in July 20, 2012 – which certainly seems to suggest that updating as already ceased, long before that December 2015 date.
