Visit www.getsafeonline.org and participate in an initiative that promotes awareness of online safety issues. Driven by the UK government, the initiative reaches out to consumers and SMEs through competitions, events and other activities. The week of activities will teach participants more about internet safety and that prevention is better than cure – it is best to prevent and make sure that the computer is properly protected and avoid the hassles of dealing with viruses, identity theft and online fraud. The website includes a knowledge base which gives solutions to a wide range of security related questions and lots of advice and links to resources for parents, carers and teachers – and young people themselves.
