In the previous blog I talked about using Swift to provide object storage, in this blog we’ll cover Cinder which allows you to connect block storage to your OpenStack Environment. So you could connect to something like an EMC VNX storage array and continue to create LUNs as you have for years.
This is generally not the preferred way to do storage for a cloud implementation. But is great for testing or connecting it to your current gear with the intent of perhaps switching to object storage at a later date.
