Adi Kurtz, senior development lead for the Forefront TMG firewall, put together a very nice explanation of the Web Farm IP affinity algorithm that the TMG firewall uses to balance connections to Web Farms.
If you’re not aware of this feature, the TMG firewall (like the ISA firewall before it) is able to balance connections to Web server farms, so that you don’t need to put an external load balancer behind the firewall to load balance the connections.
