Although the DB engine of Exchange Server 2010 has been optimized for direct attached SATA disks. it also performs well with other storage types, such as iSCSI. If you’re using or evaluating these kind of storages, you’ll be glad to know that Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 and Microsoft iSCSI Software Target 3.3 have been released to manufacturing, meaning pretty soon there will be pretty cool storage devices available from the OEMs.
