Intel moving into the software security business with McAfee purchase?

The big news today is the announcement from Intel Corp. that it’s buying McAfee, one of the largest makers of anti-virus and security software, for a whopping $7.68 million. It appears to be a recognition on the part of the company that security is a vital component of computing today and growing more important all the time.
