The new version now allows auditing of NetApp Filers along with Windows File Servers. User Group based auditing process has been significantly improved as the software now allows to directly add users/user groups in AD from various domains across the network. Also, the software has received a complete GUI update for better workflow.
With the release of this new version, LAFS is now a multiplatform File Server auditing tool. For NetApp Filer auditing, it uses the CIFS auditing protocol to capture events from shared resources and reports changes found in files, folders and permissions. It provides the same features as Windows Filer Server auditing to audit NetApp Filers using audit policies based on objects and user groups to get reports and alerts for critical changes.
