Two-factor authentication for Twitter accounts

After so much talk has been done about Twitter’s lack of security related to authentication methods and following the number of hacks of high-profile accounts, Twitter has finally announced new features that help mitigate these risks. The ideas of how to enhance Twitter accounts security have been discussed for long by many security experts. In fact, the company this week has announced the introduction of two-factor authentication provided gradually to all users.  

This is a form of two-factor authentication. When you sign in to twitter.com, there’s a second check to make sure it’s really you. You’ll be asked to register a verified phone number and a confirmed email address.
