Many companies now host blogs where their employees post updates and discussions about their products and services, industry trends and other relative information as a service to customers. And many of those blogs use the WordPress open source content management system, which is one of the most popular blog publishing applications in use. This past week, it appears that WordPress sites (and possibly sites based on other PHP systems) are being targeted by attackers who are hacking the web pages and infecting them with scripts that install malware on users’ systems and disable the alerting system built into some browsers.
