If you’ve been paying attention lately, you’ve probably heard of the latest trend in encryption that’s designed to help you better protect your organization’s data in the cloud: BYOK or Bring Your Own Key. In this scenario, your enterprise generates its own master key, which is then stored in secure dedicated Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). Amazon’s Cloud HSM service and Microsoft’s Key Vault are examples of services that support BYOK.
