When Citrix bought Kaviza, they really started to target the SMB market with VDI-in-a-box. Now, Citrix and Dell have teamed up to bring VDI-in-a-box to Dell PowerEdge servers right out of the box. This makes an all-on-one VDI appliance direct from Dell. And, since VDI-in-a-box is based on grid technology, it is now even easer to expand your VDI environment.
The appliance makes VDI simple and affordable by combining the grid architecture of VDI-in-a-Box with the efficiency of Dell servers. By using the all-in-one design of VDI-in-a-Box, the appliance eliminates the need for separate connection brokers, provisioning servers, load balancers or external storage. VDI-in-a-Box is factory installed on the server, as is the hypervisor. Each appliance is validated and rated with the number of desktops it can serve. You simply snap together as many of the appliances as you need to grow capacity.
