More than half of companies aren’t encrypting cloud data

According to this article in Infosecurity Magazine that references a study by Thales and Ponemon, the good news is that nearly three times as many organizations are encrypting sensitive data now than ten years ago, but the bad news is that when it comes to the cloud, well over half (56%) are transferring sensitive information to cloud storage without regard to encryption, and only a third of companies actually have a consistent encryption strategy.
