New iPhone Touch ID raises security concerns

The built-in fingerprint scanner is designed to allow users to unlock their phones with a touch instead of entering a PIN. However, privacy and security advocates advise caution in adopting the new authentication method – both for users and for companies whose employees access corporate data with iPhones – and some prominent people (including lawmakers) are worried that the biometric information could be hacked.
